Why I started Proofd

Founder’s story

I’ve got PCOS, and I’ve always struggled with how I feel about myself. If you’ve ever stood in front of the mirror hoping the next product would finally be the one, I know that feeling.

My bathroom drawer is basically my life story. Every product in there was going to change everything. Serums, supplements, the lot. Most of them never quite matched up to real life.

But every now and then I’d find something I bloody loved, and I’d want to tell every girl I knew. That feeling is what Proofd is built on.

We used to find the good stuff from people we knew and trusted. Your mum, your best mate, the girl at work with amazing skin. They had nothing to gain from telling you.

Now most of what we hear comes from influencers and discount codes, from people who are paid to say it. That’s just how the system works. But it means we’re spending money we haven’t got on promises. I want to get back to the old way.

So I’m starting a club. Think of it as a book club, but for products. Once a month, we pick one product and test it together for 30 days, whether you’ve already got it or just fancy joining in, then tell everyone else the truth, so nobody else has to waste their money finding out. No sponsors, no freebies, no commission.

I’m a northern girl on a mission to thrive with PCOS, and I reckon the girlies can get me there. Not paid people. Us.

Let’s club together.
